Pre-Season Game #1: Jets-Jackets


Winnipeg Jets vs Columbus Blue Jackets
7:30 PM CT MTS Centre/6:00 PM CT Nationwide Arena

The Winnipeg Jets and their fans will get their first look at the young and relocated team tonight as the Jets will take to the ice for the first time in 15 years in their pre-season opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

It will be a split squad game with half of the team playing in Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena and the other half playing at home at the sold out MTS Centre.

Jets head coach Claude Noel will be behind the bench in Winnipeg along with assistant coach Charlie Huddy while St. John's Ice Caps head coach Keith McCambridge, Jets assistant coach Pascal Vincent, and Ice Caps assistant coach Mark Morrison will be behind the bench in Columbus.

For the Winnipeg fans, they will see the following lineup:

Chris Mason will play the first two periods in Columbus, followed by Peter Mannino, while Ondrej Pavelec will play the first two periods in Winnipeg followed by David Aebischer in the third.

Many Jets, including Ben Maxwell, have been on Twitter posting their excitement for the exhibition games, especially in Winnipeg.

The game starts at 6:00 PM local time at MTS Centre while the game at Nationwide starts at 7:00 PM Eastern.
