The Winnipeg Jets have added another University of North Dakota product to their organization signing ex-Fighting Sioux defenseman and assistant captain Jake Marto to a two-way AHL/ECHL deal.
Marto, who turns 25 on August 11th, joins former teammate Jason Gregoire, who was signed earlier in the month in the Jets organization.
Last season with the Sioux, Marto had career highs with eight goals and 19 points during his fourth and final season at UND.
A native of Grand Forks, Marto stands six feet tall and weighs in at 173 pounds.
He spent the past four seasons with the Sioux collecting 62 points (21 goals, 41 assists) in 157 games.
