Mark Flood made quite the impression Saturday night in only his second Winnipeg Jets game with a goal and an assist.Flood's first career goal in his eighth career NHL game was a big one as it got the Jets on the board 6:43 into the third period.
Later on, he would chip in with an assist on Jim Slater's tying goal that would send the game to overtime.
Despite Flood's two point night, it would be New Jersey Devils rookie Adam Henrique, who would have a two point game of his own, that stole the show with two goals, including the winner in overtime as the Devils took the game 3-2.
Patrik Elias also scored for Jersey.
Slater scored his fifth goal of the season at 17:15 of the third. Slater's career high in goals is 11, which he scored in 2009-10 with Atlanta.
Dustin Byfuglien also figured in offensively with two assists - his fourth and fifth of the season.
Zach Bogosian led all Jets and players in the game in ice time with 26:25, with a -1 rating, one shot, one blocked shot, and four hits.
Byfuglien had 25:01 of ice time, Evander Kane had 24:07, Blake Wheeler had 22:40 with a +1 rating, and Alexander Burmistrov had 22:40.
Flood had 19:44 of ice time with a +1 rating and two shots.
Ondrej Pavelec stopped 25 of 28 shots in the loss.
The Jets now turn around to play at Madison Square Gardens tomorrow against the New York Rangers at 6:00 PM CT.
