It seems that the Manitoba Moose will be under the new nickname St. John's Ice Caps according to CBC news June 30th.
Danny Williams, whom the team was leased to under the ownership of True North, has apparently registered the team as the Ice Caps as well as the online domain name www.stjohnsicecaps.com.
This is still speculation, but as with the naming of the Jets, the Ice Caps name has been registered and an announcement of the team's name will be coming in the next few weeks.
